WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling Return to Clean Indian Creek Trail

On Sunday, November 20, 2022, 25 volunteers from the International WeLoveU Foundation and 14 Power Home Remodeling employees cleaned the Indian Creek Trail in Greenbelt, MD, for the second year in a row. WeLoveU volunteers arrived early to set up tables with snacks and hot coffee to prepare for the cold 33-degree weather. Thoroughly bundled up, volunteers and their friends from Power Home Remodeling cleaned from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

They turned over stones and sifted through leaves to find any refuse left behind. Gathering stray trash, plastic bags, rusty metal poles, and debris — items harmful to wildlife and humans — the volunteers disposed of 45 commercial garbage bags. Altogether, the garbage and debris weighed an estimated 1,500 lbs. WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling will continue their commitment to bettering the world and the future of humankind.

“Today, the Power Home Remodeling Group and the WeLoveU Foundation have come together a second time to clean up the Greenbelt community, specifically the Indian Creek Park. I feel like it will impact the community in a great way,” said WeLoveU volunteer and Power Home Remodeling Customer Development Mentor McKenzie.

Hearing From Our Power Home Remodeling Friends

Returning and first-time volunteers from Power Home Remodeling shared their volunteer experience with WeLoveU.

Sam, Power Home Remodeling’s customer development mentor, shared, “This is my second year volunteering, and the experience was great — super easy. Showing up, everybody was very friendly. It’s nice getting to meet different people outside of my own organization and just being able to come together for the common good. I decided to join today’s cleanup event because volunteering has always been something that I’ve liked to do and also because I had a great time last year, so I decided to come back. To the volunteers, just keep doing what you’re doing. It means a lot. We love you!”

Christine, Power Home Remodeling’s remodeling consultant team leader, mentioned, “We all got together on a beautiful Sunday morning to help clean up the park right around the corner from our office. It’s really nice to be able to have open green spaces without trash around them, and I think once you see a clean space, you’re less likely to leave behind what you brought with you. It’s been great. Thank you so much for inviting us out. We really appreciate you helping better our communities, and thank you for allowing us to be a part of it.”

  1. My friends and I had such a fun time at this event! When we arrived the WeLoveU members greeted us with warm smiles, coffee and donuts. We were able to not only clean up the park, but we met some really amazing people through WeLoveU. They truly care about saving the world through not only park clean ups but through blood drives, walk-a-thons, giving supplies to schools and communities in need! We can’t wait to join the next event 😊🥰

The fact that this group was able to accomplish this in super cold weather is even more amazing!
