As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah has inspired volunteers to launch a national blood donation campaign to address the dire need for blood supply. Now, we are calling you — essential blood donors and heroes — to register to donate blood and save three lives.
Though the country has been on pause, the demand for blood donation has skyrocketed. In the U.S., more than 50,000 blood drives have been canceled in the wake of the pandemic. And with government shutdowns across the country, blood centers saw a dramatic drop in voluntary donations.
Donating blood is an excellent opportunity for healthy donors to give back to those who need it most. And for those who are unable to donate, pledging your support is just as important. Inspire your friends, family, and colleagues to go out and donate at a blood center near them! When we donate blood, we donate love.

The WeLoveU Foundation’s top priority is the health and well-being of our donors, volunteers, and supporters. Donating blood remains a safe and meaningful practice.
Our blood center partners across the nation will be following the guidelines set by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for blood and plasma facilities. These include scheduling donations ahead of time, physical distancing, temperature checks, hand sanitizing, etc. In addition to these health protocols, the Foundation will be adhering to the CDC guidelines for events and gatherings.
All participants will be required to wear face masks or facial coverings and stay at least six feet apart at all times. Before donating, donors will have their temperatures checked. Donors will be in collection areas for the duration of the donation process and exit the venue once finished.
We understand that not everyone is able to donate blood. An alternative way to support WeLoveU is by making a monetary donation. Your donation will support WeLoveU’s programs and initiatives, including education, health, environmental protection, social welfare, international aid, and emergency relief.
