WeLoveU & Williams Adley Foundation Team Up to Beautify Oxon Run Park

The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation and Williams Adley Foundation teamed up to beautify Oxon Run Park in Washington, D.C. The William Adley Foundation donated $10,000 to WeLoveU, which helped transform the park on Thursday, September 5, 2024. From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 50 employees used their time to improve a local DC park. The partnership included removing litter, painting benches, tables and the Amphitheater. Additionally, the group planted vibrant flowers. The effort is part of William Adley Foundation’s day of service and WeLoveU’s Clean WORLD Movement.

A Joint Effort in Service and Environmental Impact

“Thank you for your heartfelt dedication to serving the community,” shared president of the Williams Adley Foundation, Melinda Buck. “It’s truly inspiring to see how much we can accomplish together in just a few hours. Knowing that our efforts will help keep this park beautiful and welcoming for everyone is incredibly rewarding.” Vice President Liz Lainheart expressed her gratitude to the group as well. “We deeply appreciate everyone who came out today — we couldn’t have done it without you. The work we’re doing not only demonstrates our commitment to the community but also makes a meaningful environmental impact. It’s exciting to see the difference we’re making together.”

Beautifying Oxon Run Park improves the environment and reduces pollution. It also benefits mental health, providing a peaceful place for people to relax and enjoy nature. Volunteering in such projects helps employees feel more connected to their community, reduces stress, and boosts teamwork, making them more engaged and satisfied at work.

“Participating in the Clean WORLD Movement makes you realize how important it is to take care of our environment,” said a WeLoveU volunteer. “It’s more than cleaning a park — it’s about preserving a space where families can come together to enjoy nature and create lasting memories.” The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation, which has helped communities in over 70 countries, embodies the spirit of giving a mother’s love to the global village. Initiated in 2008, the Clean WORLD Movement has touched communities across the globe with over 1,600 cleanups and more than 250,000 participants.

By enhancing Oxon Run Park, the volunteers improved its appearance and strengthened the community’s commitment to maintaining a clean and safe public space for future generations.
