On Sunday, June 12, 2022, around 65 WeLoveU Foundation volunteers partnered with Keep Riverside Clean & Beautiful to clean up Riverside, CA, for World Environment Day. Downtown Riverside is known for its historical and cultural roots. To ensure Riverside is adequately cleaned, the volunteers focused on cleaning storm drains and picking up recyclables, and other debris that was left in the streets. All in all, the volunteers filled 45 trash bags.
Special Guests Arrive in Support!
Jake Orta, the senior assistant to the Riverside mayor, stopped by to show his support. “It’s good to see that there are people in the world that still want to make a change in their community and help the lives of those around them.” Also, Council Assistant Paloma Montes, who came on behalf of Councilmember Erin Edwards, awarded the WeLoveU Foundation with a certificate of recognition for their great work.
Overall, the WeLoveU volunteers accomplished their goal of cleaning Riverside to improve the environment. Even after many hours in the sun, they kept working, believing it’s the little things they do now that can improve the environment in the future. The cleanup was also part of the Clean WORLD Movement, an environmental initiative the Foundation has carried out since 2009 to build a cleaner and safer world for the global village. To date, WeLoveU has conducted more than 1,690 cleanups in 59 countries.

The focal point of the Clean World Movement is growing very well, and showing everyone examples to come together to keep streets clean. seeing volunteers from all over continue to clean without any sign of stopping is amazing.
