WeLoveU & Power Home Remodeling Join Forces to Clean Riverview Drive

On Sunday, November 20, 2022, about 75 WeLoveU Foundation volunteers partnered with Power Home Remodeling and Perth Amboy Green Team to clean Riverview Drive in Perth Amboy, NJ. Riverview Drive is frequented by residents who fish near Victory Bridge, and because it’s in an isolated area, garbage is easily left behind and forgotten about. However, WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling volunteers removed 50 bags of trash and yard waste weighing approximately 3,375 lbs.

The volunteer service activity began at 10:30 a.m., and the Perth Amboy Green Team equipped the group with bags, gloves, and pickers. Waste findings included a variety of cans, glass bottles, fish lines, chairs, mattresses, and other debris. Despite being the coldest day of the year, the weather couldn’t stop the volunteers from working together. Attending the cleanup was Perth Amboy Mayor Helmin Caba, who hopes to transform Riverview Drive into a beautiful park.

For many of the Power Home Remodeling volunteers, it was their first year volunteering with the WeLoveU Foundation. Chris Marchese, a business affairs manager with Power Home Remodeling, said, “We will have such an impact on the community, not just from the environmental side, but being able to walk around a clean community does affect people to be proud of the area they are from.”

Jen Cibiniak, a senior business affairs manager at Power Home Remodeling, joined WeLoveU’s cleanup last year with Power Home Remodeling. This year, she said, “We are having a great time with WeLoveU. WeLoveU is such a welcoming force. All you have to do is be present and volunteer.” The WeLoveU volunteers will continue encouraging and inspiring the community of Perth Amboy to join the Clean WORLD Movement.

  1. As a WeLoveU volunteer, I definetly was shocked by the turn out of Power Home Remodling Employees that showed up on a Sunday morning. It was refreshing to see that though it was the coldest day of year, so far, all volunteers came out with such warm energy that you couldn’t tell the temperature was so low!

A special thank you to the Mayor of Perth Amboy & his Team who delivered such nice & encouraging words. I enjoyed participating & look forward to the next event with Power Home Remodling Volunteers 🙂
