On Thursday, August 31, 2023, the International WeLoveU Foundation, in partnership with Target Corporation, hosted the Packs on Backs & Tools for Schools event at Edna and John Mosley School in Aurora, CO. The group donated 40 backpacks, 100 notebooks, and 100 pens. As WeLoveU continues to share a mother’s love, the volunteers joyfully served Mosley School with all types of tools and supplies that students need to succeed in the classroom.  

Due to limited government funding and budget plans, schools often rely on donations from parent-teacher associations and non-profit organizations. Since 2019, back-to-school spending has increased by 22%. With inflation at a 41-year high and the cost of many goods and materials steadily on the rise, the WeLoveU Foundation stepped up to help close the income gap in the communities around them by hosting the Packs on Backs & Tools for Schools event.  

The Packs on Backs program has benefited over 12 schools in various states all across the nation in 2023. With the original plan of supporting more than 3,300 students in nine schools across the country, WeLoveU has surpassed its goal of making a difference in the lives of students, teachers, and parents who have been impacted in a positive way by this proactive approach to alleviate the financial burden for families across the board.  

During the event, the Target store director located in Glendale assisted with providing the supplies. Items included backpacks filled with various school supplies. Principal Ruth Baldivia expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the WeLoveU Foundation for everything they have done. The WeLoveU Foundation is dedicated to promoting unity and friendship among all people of the global village — beyond nationality, race, religion, and socioeconomic status— through impactful initiatives like Packs on Backs.
