WeLoveU Volunteers Clean Busy West End Community in Providence, RI

In honor of the WeLoveU Clean Day, 40 volunteers from the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation came together in the West End community of Providence, RI, to carry out a street cleanup. The effort was part of WeLoveU’s Clean WORLD Movement, an environmental protection initiative established to achieve a clean and safe environment for all.

Beating the Heat!

Despite the high 90-degree temperatures, the volunteers gathered at the Dexter Training Ground at 9:30 a.m. to kick off the cleanup. With pickers, trash bags, and smiles ready, everyone split into two cleaning groups to start. Group A cleaned from Parade Street to lower Westminster, Cranston, and Bridgham Street. Meanwhile, group B cleaned Upper Cranston, Westminster, and Bridgham Street. Along the way, volunteers worked together to pick up debris like old bottles, trash, plastic cups, and face masks.

Happy to Do Good!

β€œWe had a great time helping out the community and helping out clean the park and surrounding areas with the WeLoveU Foundation. It was really great to be out here and help pick up trash and keep our community nice and protected,” said Spencer D., a long-time resident of Providence.

Back at the Dexter Training Ground, volunteers could fill their reusable water bottles at the WeLoveU tent. They could also read educational panels about the Foundation and its initiatives. Many residents came by to learn more about the cleanup and how to sign-up for the next event.

The volunteers returned to the Dexter Training Ground, after two hours of cleaning. There, they took a final group picture, displaying the results of the cleanup. Ultimately, the volunteers removed 23 bags of trash and two bags of recyclables off the streets of Providence, RI!
