ORADELL, NJ— The International WeLoveU Foundation East Coast Region (WeLoveU) brings together representatives from the United States and Haiti to deliver 3,000 solar-powered lanterns to students in Haiti’s vocational school program valued at more than US$150,000. This effort is part of a campaign called The #BrightHaiti Project, which launched last March. The #BrightHaiti Project serves as a tool to raise awareness about the importance of empowering students in the global family to help them succeed.

WeLoveU Foundation Founder and Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah said, “We are one family who live in the same house called Earth. We must not turn away from those who are faced with difficulties. If we go to them and encourage them, sharing even the smallest thing with them, we can feel true happiness and joy. We can share things even if we do not have much, as long as we want to share something with others. This is the heart of a mother who embraces the whole world.”

“The youth is our future, not only in Haiti but around the world,” said Rebecca Parker, Spokeswoman of the WeLoveU Foundation on the East Coast. “By providing these lights to students in Haiti, we hope we can support them along their journey to earn a living through their trade, and provide for their families so that the generations after them can also do the same. By helping them to succeed, we are supporting the future of our planet.”

The WeLoveU Foundation is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and garnered support from sponsors and volunteers of the organization. Through its global initiatives, WeLoveU is committed to ensure children in impoverished nations around the world are able to receive an education and have access to proper medical care.
